The 3-pass method
01
Pass 1: Generate. Read the whole output cold.
02
Pass 2: Kill hedging. AI loves hedging — "potentially," "it may be worth considering." Delete all of it.
03
Pass 3: Add specificity. Wherever the AI wrote something general, add one specific name, date, or number.
Key idea
Rule: the AI writes the skeleton, you write the spine
The AI is great at structure, decent at phrasing, weak at what actually matters. Never send AI output that hasn't had human specifics added. Partners can smell AI prose at 100 yards.
The Experience Bridge
Map this concept back to what you already know
In your past role
Any deliverable you've produced from a template — a deck, a brief, a report — started as a generic scaffold. Good work came from ripping it apart and rebuilding the narrative. Bad work shipped the template with data plugged in.
At Red Iron Group
Same with AI reports. Claude gives you the template. You rip it apart, rebuild the narrative around your actual observations, ship that.
Why the skill transfers
The "template is the starting point, not the output" instinct is exactly what this module needs.
